Recipe of Baby Naan Without Yeast and Tandoor

 





PROLOGUE

Preparation time :  1 hour

Cooking time 30 minutes

Total time : 1.5 hours

Servings : 8 people (2 piece each)


INGREDIENTS

1)  2 cups of  refined wheat flour / Maida.

2)  1 cup Yogurt.

3)  1 teaspoon baking powder.

4)  1/2 teaspoon baking soda.

5)  50 gram butter.

6)  1/2 cup refined oil.

7)  Sugar and Salt according to your taste.


PROCEDURE

1.  Take a mixing bowl and add 2 cups of refined wheat (Maida), 1 cup of yogurt, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda and 2 tablespoon of refined oil in it.

2.  Add salt and sugar according to your taste. 

3.  Make a soft dough.

4.  Do not add water, but may add extra yogurt if necessary. 

5.  Now cover the dough with a lid and allow it to rest for atleast 1 hour.

6.  After the stipulated time, you will find that the dough has risen and has a fluffy texture.

7.  Now divide the dough into 10-12 equal balls.

8.  Roll the dough dusting with dry flour into a oval/circular shape keeping thickness of 1/8 inches.

9.  Light up the gas oven and place a non stick pan over it. 

10. After it gets heated, fry the naan on both side without any butter or oil, till it gets a little brown colour.

Now brush refined oil or butter or the oil butter mixture on both sides of the naan and fry it for 1-2 minutes.

Your Naan is ready and you may add chopped coriander leaves or seasame seeds with some extra butter as toppings. Serve it hot with Paneer/Chicken Tikka masala or similar dishes.

  1. Wow, looks great! If you don't have a tandoor you can make it from two clay pots. Cheap and easy. There are a lot of diy videos about it
